HotStepper

I developed HotStepper with Nexus Studios to be the world's first augmented reality character-based wayfinding app. Users can input any address, and our lively character, HotStepper, will guide them there, walking the real-world streets with them. The app combines cutting-edge AR, geolocation, and mapping technologies. Notably, HotStepper's appearance adapts in real-time based on nearby businesses, such as changing hairstyles when passing a salon. Additionally, the app features 3D arrows placed into the real world, ensuring users always know where to turn. Our proprietary rendering system samples colors from the camera to reflect them onto the character, making him appear naturally lit by the environment, with shadows cast according to the sun's position.
